Various Hotels In Malaga Spain

Thursday, July 9th, 2009

Whether you’re looking for a luxury vacation or a low-priced getaway, you’ll find something to fit your needs in Malaga, Spain. This area has accommodations for anyone. From four star high-rise hotels to no-frills hostels, this area is overflowing with memory-making accommodations. Hotels are the most popular choice, but you can also find spas, rental apartments and bed and breakfasts.

Hotels in Malaga Spain

When choosing your accommodations, whether it be a Malaga hotel, apartment or hostel consider your needs. Price is generally the first consideration. The average hotel can run about $100USD. You might consider the AC Malaga Palacio Hotel or the Los Naranjos Hotel if you’re staying in the center of the city, and are looking for all the services and amenities of a larger chain. Travelers also like the Novetel Malaga and the Hotel Adriano.

Stay in Luxury

Up and down the length of the Costa del Sol, you’ll find a number of luxury spas and resorts. Here you’ll find amenities and services surpassing that of the lower-priced hotels. At the spas throughout Malaga, you can golf, take advantage of the spa, or simply enjoy the beautiful weather. High-rated spas include the Parador Malaga Golf Hotel and the Sunset Beach Club. Enjoy a massage or manicure after swimming and visiting the fitness center at the Gran Hotel Benahavis in Malaga. Among the popular international chains is the Radisson SAS El Marques Resort and Spa.

Apartments

If you’re on an extended trip, or you just enjoy having access to a kitchen, you might consider renting an apartment. You can rent one time or find a timeshare that will allow you to return frequently. Generally, an apartment isn’t rented on single-night basis, so consider this option only if you’re staying for at least a week, as that’s usually the minimum rental period.

Bed and Breakfasts

In the US, when you think “bed and breakfast” you assume it’s a home or other small building with a limited number of rooms. Here, it could refer to a hotel with as many as 150 rooms. It gets its name from the fact that a continental breakfast is included. Though they may not be small, they still offer the personalized service you’d expect from a bed and breakfast.

From the selective business traveler to the budget-minded backpacker, there are accommodations for everyone in Malaga. Whichever type you choose, you’ll find that it has its own unique charm.

Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

When you stay in the Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel room with a harbour view, then you get a harbour view with a vengeance. I had forgotten how beautiful it all was, until at ten o’clock at night the baggage porter pressed the automatic button to open the curtains, and there the full majesty of night time Hong Kong island Wanchai district was exposed to us.

Wakening in the morning the first thing we did was to sit up in bed as the curtains slowly opened, and we saw the busy harbour, boats, junks, and sampans rushing here and there, it was a highlight of our time in Hong Kong.

We were very pleased with our choice of hotel firstly because there were four of us, the children are 11 and 8, and the room was large enough to accommodate us all.

The restaurant we used for our meals, mainly breakfast but also dinner was Cafe Cool.

I have eaten in many restaurants buffet style in five star hotels all over the world, but this has to rank amongst the best, because you not only could have western breakfast food cooked as you waited but also a huge number of chinese delicacies as well. I have to confess we ate in several evenings because the food was so good.

The Tapas Bar was a daily stopping off spot, which reminded me of how much my children could demolish without apprciation of the quality or the price!! Happy Hour and two large glasses of wine for the price of one eased the pain, and the Tapas were as good as in many Spanish Bars.

If you want to see photographs as well go to http://www.worldwidevacationspots.com/articles/24/1/Kowloon-Shangri-La-Hotel/Page1.html

English afternoon tea in the lobby was also impressive, and I haven’t begun to explain how central the Kowloon Shangri La is to Star Ferry, Nathan Road, and all the necessary ports of call we tourists have to make.

Finally the Kowloon Shangri-La gave me a very good deal by dealing direct

Gran Hotel Son Net Mallorca

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

The Hotel Son Net certainly lived up to its reputation of being one of the top ten hotels in the world.

When a hotel is described as being ‘tucked away’ don’t be surprised to find that what that really means is you are going to need a car. That is really the only drawback whilst at the same time a massive advantage of this hotel, is the fact that it is quite isolated so you end up being cocooned in its’ warmth and charm, quite simply because it makes you feel miles away from reality.

The Hotel Son Net has beautiful rooms, but go for the best room you can afford, because the standard style rooms are a bit small. There are lovely marble bathrooms, and beautiful mountain scenery.
The food in the restaurant was quite superb, some of the best food I have ever eaten in an hotel, and the wines were really very good, and well chosen by the sommelier. However I would say that the service was a little slow at times but that has been a not uncommon experience in Spain and Majorca previously.
I wouldn’t want you to infer from my comment about the slowness of the service as an implied criticism of the staff of the hotel, because during our stay the personal attention we received made us feel like royalty. It seemed by the time we had been there for a few days they knew all our likes and dislikes.

The general age of the clientele was quite old, making us feel almost young again. Overall a very nice time was had, whilst staying at the Son Net, but probably not for a young family with children, and not a place to be when the weather is cool, due to the lack of things to do.

Reef House Hotel Roatan Honduras

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

The Reef House offers the best resort experience ever.

Having said that it would be fair to say, I’m not a fan of the over hyped, luxury hotels which are a world away from reality, where guests are cocooned , and could be anywhere in the world. So don’t come to The Reef House Resort Roatan if you are looking for a luxury hotel with night life!!

If you want night-life, crowds & noise, then stay down at the West End of Roatan.

The Reef House is the real thing, a place for diving, and total shoeless relaxation, but with great service and food.

Reef House is located in one of the last traditional water-front villages on Roatan, and is only accessible by boat.

On your way, you’ll pass through the village of Oak Ridge, a vibrant fishing community of friendly locals, whose homes are built on stilts over the water.

Located on the east end & southern side of Roatan, Reef House is constantly washed in cooling trade winds (which conveniently blow the sand flies to the western & more built-up end of the island), and has one of the best diving walls in the Caribbean 100 feet from the water-front bar.

If you want to see photographs of The Reef House resort then go to http://www.worldwidevacationspots.com/articles/13/1/The-Reef-House-Resort-Roatan-Honduras/Page1.html

Certainly one of the highlights of staying at Reef House is the tidal salt water pool, which hosts anywhere from 15-20 hawksbill and green turtles, which are part of an on-going study to discover their habits & range.

You can snorkel with the turtles, and the host of other sea life residing in the pool (including conch, barracuda, octopus, & lots of juvenile fish) any time you desire

The resort is very comfortable if rustic, rooms were clean with window A/C units, ceiling fans & a shady verandah perfect for reading a book on a hot afternoon, and hot water in the private baths.

The food is incredibly good and plentiful. Meals are very sociable, and all take around the table together.

We had King Crab, Lobster, Chicken, steaks on the grill, Salads, and lovely desserts with all types of juices and teas. This is not to forget how good the breakfasts were as well.

The bar is the real centre of the resort, where most of the guests congregated in the evening

The hosts were outstanding. If felt like you were part of the family

The diving was outstanding. The Dive Master David (pronounced Dabeed) was fantastic as was his side kick the boat Captain Choco.

The rental equipment was in great shape well taken care of. However if diving is not your thing, the snorkelers were equally happy, as they frequently saw as much or more than the divers. They also had the option of snorkelling in front of the resort or tagging along on the dive boat.

To summarise, if you want to experience life in a traditional Roatan village, in a clean & comfortable resort, surrounded by natural beauty, friendly staff & guests who share your passion for diving and snorkelling & the beauty of the reef, then Reef House Resort is for you. They offer an incredible experience with hosts who truly care about the island of Roatan, their guests, and the reef.

Reef House is one of those small & comfortable places you keep hoping to find.

If you are looking to dance all night and have breakfast in bed, go somewhere else. If you want to relax, dive, snorkel, swim, read, swap experiences, eat well, and repeat it all the next day, the Reef House is for you.
